Corrections and removal requests
Where the records come from
Our records come from Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Child Care Regulation public records published as open data on data.texas.gov under CC0. We refresh the records regularly. Check the official HHSC search site for the latest record.
Source datasets: operations, activities, and non-compliance records.
Request a correction or removal
Email support@thedaycarelist.com with the page URL, operation number, what is wrong or what you want removed, and supporting information, such as a state record showing the change. We aim to acknowledge requests within 5 business days.
What we can change
We can correct errors we introduced, including wrong mappings, stale data, broken links, and summary wording. When the official state record changes, we re-sync it. For example, if the state removes or updates a citation after an appeal or due process, our next refresh removes or updates it.
Home-based providers named after a person are already excluded from search indexing and listings. Owners of home-based programs may request removal of their page. We honor these requests and remove the page at the next build.
Disputes about the state record
We reflect official HHSC records. We do not edit inspector narratives or remove citations that remain on the official record, except for the home-based page removal requests described above. Disputes about a citation itself go to HHSC through its administrative review and due-process route. See HHSC child care for information.
